Carlsbad's famous Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers are blooming, but there is a lot more here to see.
The 55 acres of flowers are starting to bloom on the North end of the property, and now is a good time to visit before the big crowds of April and May arrive. If you are flower lover, a photographer, visitor to Carlsbad or just looking to do something unique and fun – the Flower Fields of Carlsbad have a lot to offer in 2024.
Besides walking through the gorgeous blooms, there is a Sweet Pea Maze to challenge kids to find their way through the fragrant pea vines. The crowd favorite Tractor Wagon Ride ($8 adults, $4 kids) takes visitors on a full drive around the property without having to do as much walking. The large 300′ x 170′ American Flag of Flowers garden is worth a visit on the south end of the property.
Other interesting activities include the Artist Gardens, Bird Aviaries, the Cymbidium Orchid Greenhouse, Historic Poinsettia Display, Santa’s Playground, the Demonstration Garden, Butterfly Garden, Illusion Garden, and Pothead Garden. Need a break from all the sightseeing? Stop by the Carlsbad Mining Company area and learn how miners find those gemstones in a box of sand. Adults $5, Kids $4.
